Quanjude is one most famous duck restaurants in Beijing, set up in the 1860's during the Qing dynasty, it has a unique taste that nobody can resist. Quanjude has got a name for itself both at home and abroad by offering traditional roasted ducks. The ducks served here are hand-made with knowledge passed down by generations of royal palace chefs. Reddish brown, the roasted ducks have a glossy silk-like skin that will attract people's appetite when they look at them as it is tender and crisp. Quanjude keep strict standards for choosing the ducks, it uses an oven without a door. After a kind of dressing being spread all over a duck, it will be hooked up in the oven over the flame coming up directly from the burning of the fruit-tree wood and it will be ready in 40 minutes. After roasted and dried, the duck will look brightly dark red, shining with oil, crisp skin and tender meat. Not many people can resist its temptation. Flowers bloom all over the mountains in spring, grass dresses the hillside green in summer, trees are laden with sweet fruit in autumn, and especially in October, leaves turn red or yellow, touching the mountain tops with gold. Mutianyu offers an alternative Great Wall experience compared to the popular Badaling section . This portion of China’s ancient engineering marvel features an optional cable car ride or an opportunity to climb more than 1, 400 steps to the top. Mutianyu Great Wall is much steeper than Badaling Great Wall, and a more challenging climb. This section is older than Badaling and features outer and inner parapets. There are 22 watch-towers in the 2250-meter-long Mutianyu Great Wall, and the highest one is 540 meters above sea level. This section of the wall is also surrounded by woodland and streams. The Great Wall takes on different looks in different seasons. In spring, flowers are blooming. In summer, the Great Wall is lush and green. In winter, the Great Wall is covered with white snow. However, the Great Wall’s most charming season is autumn, when fruits ripen and leaves of gorgeously diverse colour fall at this photogenic spot. Our next stop is a visit to a nearby Cloisonne Factory. The art of Cloisonne is a unique combination of sculpture, painting, porcelain making and coppersmithing that is said to have originated in Beijing during the Yuan Dynasty. To make a Cloisonne piece, a copper body is first made, and then intricate engravings are made with a copper wire. Different colored pigments are then applied to the engravings. Finally, the piece is fired and polished.

Beijing is an enormous city of nearly 15 million people, with one of the oldest cultures on Earth. The Jinshanling Great Wall was initially built from 1368 to 1389 in the Ming dynasty , and in 1567 or 1570 rebuilding of the wall was mainly directed by General Qi Jiguang. The Wall is about 21 to 24 feet high and 15 to 18 feet wide, which is made of brick and stone. The Jinshanling Great Wall has an elevation of 2100 feet, there is a cableway up to the top. The fact is that it is very easy to walk up to the Great Wall, hiking about four hours. Each tower has its unique features and look, as its relatively less crowded at Jinshanling Great Wall, it is a nice place to explore around Beijing.
