The Andes mountain range holds a significant portion of our history and culture, and serves as a meeting point for the people of Mendoza. It invites us to travel along its winding roads, unveiling unique landscapes throughout the journey. We will encounter man-made marvels such as the dam at Potrerillos , along with natural wonders including the Puente del Inca and Mount Aconcagua . We will set off early in the morning via Route 7 towards Cacheuta, alongside the Mendoza River, featuring views of the majestic Cordón del Plata mountain range and Potrerillos . Next, we will continue on to Uspallata , a pre-Hispanic settlement of the Huarpe indigenous people , as well as the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas , and the former ski station Los Penitentes . We will then reach the Puente del Inca , a natural architectural formation with hot springs. Just a few kilometres further, at 2, 750 metres above sea level, lies the viewpoint of Cerro Aconcagua , the Colossus of the Americas , standing at an altitude of 6, 962 metres. Finally, we will arrive at Las Cuevas (the last Argentinian village at the Chilean border, situated 3, 200 metres above sea level), and if the weather and road conditions permit, we will conclude the excursion with a visit to the Christ the Redeemer monument . In the afternoon, there will be a stop for lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel. Cerro Aconcagua viewpoint (6, 959 m): The place where we will have the best view of the mountain and which serves as the entrance to the Aconcagua Provincial Park. Las Cuevas: The last Argentinian settlement, located at the entrance to the tunnel connecting us with the Republic of Chile. Then, visit the villages of Picheuta, Polvareda, Punta de Vacas and Los Penitentes ski resort, where you will have some free time to use the chair lift and get amazing panoramic views of the area. The next stop is a Cerro Aconcagua scenic viewpoint, located at 9, 022 feet (2, 750 meters) above sea level. From there, head to Horcones Lagoon and the Aconcagua Provincial Park. Following the international route, reach your final destination, the village of Las Cuevas, a European-style village, located 10, 500 feet (3, 200 meters) above sea level and the last Argentinian city before the Chilean border. A path between Las Cuevas and the international tunnel allows visitors up to the Cristo Redentor monument, located 13, 780 feet (4, 200 meters) above sea level, symbolizing the union between Argentinians and Chileans. Next, we will continue along the Alameda promenade until we reach the downtown area to visit the main square Independence and the famous Emilio Civit Avenue until we reach the emblematic General San Martin, one of the biggest and most beautiful parks in Argentina. During the tour, you will be able to see the Cerro de la Gloria with its imposing Monument to the Army of the Andes , in honor of General San Martin and representing the liberating troops of Chile and Peru. Finally, before returning to the city center, we will pass by the Malvinas Argentinas World Cup Stadium and the Frank Romero Day Greek Theatre where the main events of the National Grape Harvest Festival. At the end of the tour, we will return to the city center.
