About 95 km from Natal, we follow BR 101 to the city of Canguaretama. Continuing the route, we pass through the entrance of the city of Vila Flor, through the shrimp farms in vivieiros until the beautiful view of the arrival at Praia de Cunhau. We cross the Cunhau river (optional boat ride, not included) with the beautiful fauna and flora from its exuberant estuary to the other shore in Praia da Restinga, of unique and deserted beauty, with its gastronomic attractions of extreme simplicity and unforgettable flavour. Our tour begins as we travel along the Golden Mile, the revitalised beachfront promenade which hugs the beckoning beaches of Durban, viewing the upgraded Point Waterfront. We travel through the city, viewing the majestic City Hall, and enjoying its humorous history! We continue to the small craft harbour viewing the 8th largest harbour in the world. Drive past the sugar terminals and very busy harbour warehouses on our way to the University of Natal – Durban Campus where we view lovely sights of the harbour below. Then we visit the bustling African/Indian Markets at Warwick Triangle – home to nine distinct markets developed around Durban’s largest public transport interchange and where approximately 6 000 street vendors ply their trade, to an average of 460 000 daily commuters – an authentic experience. From culture to nature, we visit the peaceful Durban Botanic Gardens founded in 1849, a treasure trove of massive trees from Asia, Africa and America, and a magnificent orchid house. We then conclude with a visit to an icon of KwaZulu-Natal, the Moses Mabhida Stadium, where you will have the option of experiencing the cable car ride (for your own account) to the top of the stadium for that phenomenal view of Durban and its surroundings. We will continue towards São Miguel do Gostoso and on the way we will stop at the Urca do Tubarão cachaça distillery, to get to know a little of the local culture. After hotels pick ups around 8 am, the tour will be made through the main sights of the second greenest city in the world. The tour will take you from the easternmost point of the Americas (Cabo Branco Lighthouse - Ponta do Seixas), through the work of the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer (Cabo Branco Station - Science, Culture and Arts), to the Historic Center of the third oldest city in Brazil. Throughout the day, you will pass through the Solon de Lucena Park, Antenor Navarro Square, Globo Hotel, Three Powers Square, N. Sra. At 4 pm, return to the bus that will take tourists to their respective hotels. Then you will take a trip to the beach of Jacaré on the banks of the River Paraíba, with free time to stroll along the waterfront and visit the riverside bars, while visitors get ready for the magical moment when they pay homage to the sun as it slips away to the sound of Ravel’s Bolero. You can also buy an optional catamaran ride on the Rio Paraíba (which features lively cangaceiros teaching to dance our forró in a beautiful violin version of the artist Belle Soares, besides the illustrious presence of the artist Jurandy do Saxophone). After the pick up at the hotels around 06 am, the transport goes towards to Maracajaú, located 70 km from Natal (1:30h travel time, on average), where we will find all the excitement and natural beauty of a beach still untouched by the urbanization. The departure time is at 08 am, but can be anticipated as it depends on the tide conditions. If the departure time is earlier, a breakfast will be offered. Before embarking on the catamaran that will take us to the natural pools, it is possible to choose options like the Buggy ride or quadricycle ride to be performed after the return. Before boarding you can also decide if you want to take a baptism dive to get a more special view of the natural pools. The boat ride to the reef lasts around 20 minutes. It is also possible to purchase the baptism dive option (not included) to do during the tour! Known as the Brazilian Caribbean, diving in the Parrachos, reef formation of 15 km and an average of 3 meters deep, existing 7 km from the beach, is the great attraction, where "floating" make up the infrastructure of the tour and are incentive even for those who have no experience in this activity. After spending an hour and a half at the reefs, we return and we have about 2 hours to enjoy the optional rides and have lunch (not included).
