Bioparc Valencia
Take a walk on the wild side of Valencia with a visit to Bioparc, a zoo with a difference. Explore the vast savannah among herds of antelope, giraffe and rhino, and see the fearsome (and fearless) lions dominate the large grassland from their rocky vantage point. Bioparc Valencia is a fun day out for all the family. Africa comes to life at Bioparc, where you are encouraged to immerse yourself in the life and activities of the zoo. Delve deep into the faithfully recreated natural habitats and discover the complexity of the ecosystems in which the animals live; such as savannahs, rainforests and marshlands. Uncover how aardvarks live underground as they wander through burrows surrounded by termites, and see hyenas and wild boars as if they were in Africa. Venture into the dense equatorial forest in search of gorillas, buffalo and leopards. Watch in awe as hippos submerse themselves in the water and as the Nile crocodiles surreptitiously slink themselves into the water among thousands of fish. There is an amphibian habitat where frogs and toads hang out, and there’s a section where great apes are able to prowl in peace. Follow the giant footsteps of the elephants into a replica of a cave excavated by ancient pachyderm: the Kitum Cave. It is a recreation of a millenarian volcanic grotto in Kenya home to thousands of bats, and as the sun sets herds of elephants enter inside in search of mineral salts. San Nicolás Church Ticket
The church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir is probably the best example of the coexistence of a temple with a Gothic structure from the 15th century with Baroque decoration from the 17th century that we find in the city of Valencia. The space occupied by the parish church of St. Nicholas has been considered sacred practically since the Roman foundation of the city. Apparently, a temple to pagan divinities was already dedicated to this area and it was a burial place outside the city walls, according to Roman custom. Historical documents state that the first building was built in the time of King James I, who donated the place to the Dominicans who accompanied him. Years later, the Dominicans founded the Convent of Santo Domingo (now the Captaincy General building) and the temple was directly linked to the diocese of Valencia and the secular clergy. It was erected as a parish around 1242 and is included in the first twelve Christian parishes of the city of Valencia after the restoration of the Diocese in
