Our route is entirely on secondary tarmac roads, which makes our activity suitable for all ages and allows for a relaxed yet fun atmosphere. The tour lasts about 4 and a half hours and takes place in open-top Land Rover Defender 4×4 jeeps with a driver and a capacity for 6 passengers. We leave Corralejo in the direction of Lajares, a small village where we can see some plantations of Agaves (also called Pitas) and visit the craft shops and typical products of the area. We will then visit the village of La Oliva, where the municipal seat of the whole area is located, another village with a history of its own. We will continue to the area of Tindaya, to admire its magical and unique mountain, a sacred place for the ancient aborigines who inhabited Fuerteventura. We will then head towards the west coast of the island, visiting Esquinzo Beach, Aguila, and many other charming coves. The next visit and stop will be in El Cotillo, with cozy beaches, a charming village, good restaurants, a fishing harbor, a lighthouse, and a castle included, can you ask for more, this is why this area is emblematic and the desired holiday place for the Canarian inhabitants themselves. In El Cotillo, we will have free time to have lunch, swim on its fantastic beaches, or simply stroll around the village and have a drink on one of its terraces. We will go to the dock and the fortress of Tostón, built at the end of the 18th century to defend the island from pirate invasions. The lime kilns, the port from where the lime was exported, and agricultural and livestock points. On the way back, we will drive off-road and see the volcano of Bayuyo, we will take a short walk until we get to the caldea from where we will be able to see the effects of volcanic activity on the island. Fuerteventura is one of the world's top surfing destinations and it's a great place to learn this fun, exciting sport. You won't need much equipment and the surf is always up somewhere around this beautiful island. You can choose from several different courses, all taught by our friendly team of expert instructors. The courses are aimed at all ages and abilities so you're sure to find exactly what you're looking for. You'll be taken to a fantastic beach in the north of the island where you'll meet our friendly team of qualified instructors. After a warm up you'll receive a safety briefing with information on the lesson plan, hazards and dangers as well as the different signals and commands employed by the instructors. Learn how to enter the water safely and ride the waves into the shore from waist depth as you lie down on the board. Then try a drop knee position before you learn to stand upright and ride the waves like a pro. Several different courses are available. On the one day four hour course you will make your first contact with the surf, learning to ride whitewater waves and paddling techniques. On the three day twelve hour course learn duck-diving, standing techniques and wave safety. Then on the five day twenty hour course learn all about whitewater and green waves and how to spot the best places for surfing. Meeting/ Pick up point: Transfer included from hotels in Corralejo. Kitesurfing in Corralejo
Why not try kite surfing while you're on Fuerteventura. This extreme sport isperfect for adrenaline junkies. It involves a combination of wakeboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding and gymnastics all rolled into one. You'll learn to skim across the water, feeling the power of the wind as you go, in this course for beginners spread over two days. Fuerteventura is a Mecca for kitesurfers and the Flag Beach School, is the best of its kind in the Canary Islands. Over the years Flag Beach School has developed a highly efficient teaching method running courses downwind using 6 metre semi-ridged inflatable boats. All the boats are equipped with first aid kits, VHF radios, mobile phones and are fitted with either 70 or 80 HP engines. This means that you can learn to kite surf anywhere around the northern tip of Fuerteventura whatever the wind direction. This also means that you won't have to waste time walking back up wind as any time spent in the water is 100% in the water. On the first day you'll start with a brief theoretical introduction to the sport before you start by learning to rig up and practice some basic manoeuvres, including landing and launching the board. Begin your tour of the island in Tiscamanita and admire the modest church built by the neighbours four centuries ago. On our way to the north, we will pass through Puerto del Rosario, the capital of the island, to the Corralejo Natural Park, with more than 2, 500 hectares of dunes offering a spectacular sight. A little further north, from the Port of Corralejo you can also enjoy beautiful views of Isla de Lobos, a small natural park that boasts a unique volcanic landscape. We’ll make a stop at lunchtime before heading through La Oliva to Mirador de los Reyes, an absolute must see. Contemplate the imposing bronze statues and prepare your camera to photograph an incredible place. Afterwards, we’ll make our way to the Pepe goat’s farm to taste typical Majoreros cheeses and learn different aspects of the Aloe Vera culture. Finally, you will arrive at the ancient capital of the island, Betancuria. Visit the Casa de Santa María, a traditional farmhouse where you can admire a collection of local artefacts and attend an audiovisual demonstration about the traditions of the locals. Before returning back home, you will stop in the picturesque town of Pájara. With its beautiful Aztec influenced church that will leave you dazzled. After departing Corralejo, you will enjoy a scenic cruise towards the fishing port and resort of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote where your guided tour of the neighbouring island’s amazing lava fields will begin. Head towards the fascinating vineyards at La Geria, where you will learn about the unique way of growing vines on volcanic soil and enjoy a taste of a delicious local wine. At the Timanfaya National Park you will feel the intense underground heat just metres beneath your feet, see with your own eyes how water poured onto the earth turns into a steaming geyser and bushes bursting into flames. Then cross this awe-inspiring landscape, studded with a spectacular series of volcanoes. Next, continue along the coast, heading for the remote village of El Golfo, where you can admire a green lagoon hidden within a volcanic crater. Then, at Los Hervideros, you can admire the waves breaking into a series of tunnels and caves formed millennia ago by streams of cooling lava. On the way back southwards pass the salt pans at Las Salinas before boarding the boat for the trip back to Fuerteventura. We will arrive back at Corralejo late afternoon, where you bus will be waiting for you. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The restaurant where we usually take people who do the Volcán Exprés tour will be closed until approximately May 30th, due to renovations. Therefore, the lunch break will take place in Yaiza after the visit to the Aloe Museum.
