You won't get a separate permit invoice partway through booking — the price you see on each route above is the price you pay, food and boiled drinking water included, plus two nights' accommodation in Arusha either side of the climb. The one thing we don't itemise as a discount is a shorter itinerary. Machame is sold elsewhere as a six-day climb; we run it over nine, and Lemosho, which has the best summit success rate of the six routes, we run over eleven. The extra days aren't padding — they're acclimatisation, and altitude sickness is a function of pace, not fitness. Every route crosses Kilimanjaro's five climate zones, from rainforest to the arctic summit zone, and each transition gives your body time to adjust before the next one. We follow the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project's guidelines on every climb: proper wages, three meals a day, real sleeping gear, and the 20-kilogram weight limit checked at the gate scales, not taken on trust. Our founder started on this mountain as a porter before he became a guide — porter welfare here is how a company run by a former porter treats the people who carry its trips, not a line added for the website. Born in Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro, he carried loads for other people's summits before becoming a driver-guide, then operations manager, then founding Nature Bound Africa.
