During the tour you will not only visit the famous "Blue House" , but you will also get to know the majestic architecture of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the picturesque landscapes of downtown Coyoacan and the colors of Xochimilco , "Place of flowers". Our first stop will be Coyoacan, whose name in Nahuatl means “place of coyotes”. Here, our local guide will give you a brief explanation about the origin and importance of this neighborhood and its surroundings, and you will also have time to walk through its streets and if you want, have a light breakfast (on your own). Next, you will visit the House-Museum of Frida Kahlo , or the "Blue House", where you will learn about the intense relationship between Frida, her works and her home, where she was born, and also where she died. It will be an experience full of stimuli! Although after marrying Diego Rivera she lived in different places in Mexico City and abroad, she always returned to her old house in Coyoacán. The next stop is Ciudad Universitaria . Here, our local guide will explain the murals of the Rectory and the Central Library belonging to the main campus of the National University. More than 110 murals of different sizes and shapes will leave you amazed by their way of telling the history of Mexico! You will have a unique experience with which you will learn key points in the history of an entire country from the hand of our local guide. The last stop is one of Frida Kahlo's favorite places, Xochimilco. Here you will not only obtain information about its origins, dating back to pre-Hispanic times, but you will also enjoy a ride on a trajinera , a traditional boat from the area. Take advantage of your free time to walk through the handicraft market or try the delicious food that is sold in the surroundings.
