    Fri, Nov 6, 2026
World’s End Press Reunite for One-Night-Only Show at The Night Cat After a decade of silence, acclaimed Australian four-piece World’s End Press have announced their long-awaited reunion, returning to the stage for a special one-night-only performance at The Night Cat on Friday . Known for their distinctive blend of synth-pop, live dance, and atmospheric electronica, World’s End Press quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting live acts in the early 2010s. The band’s debut album released on Liberation Records received widespread critical acclaim, with ‘album of the week’ praise from Triple J, Triple R and FBI Radio. Over their original run, the band performed at some of Australia’s most prestigious festivals, including Falls Festival and Laneway Festival, and toured extensively both nationally and internationally with the likes of Primal Scream, Hot Chip, Phoenix and Cut Copy. Their dynamic live shows and genre-blurring sound earned them a devoted following. Since their hiatus, members have pursued various creative projects, but the influence of World’s End Press has continued to resonate with fans and peers alike. Now, ten years later, the band is returning to celebrate their legacy with a hint at what may come next. The November 6 show at The Night Cat promises a wild night, revisiting fan favourites alongside deep cuts. Katie Pearson DJ will be working the dancefloor before and after the show.

    Priya Ragu [LIVE]

    Wed, Nov 11, 2026
Tamil-Swiss artist Priya Ragu returns to Australia this November for two headline shows, landing at Powerhouse Parramatta in Sydney and The Night Cat in Melbourne. Over the past five years, Ragu has been carving out a sound that seems to exist in several places at once. Her self-described Raguwavy moves through R&B, hip-hop, soul and electronic music, threaded with the folk rhythms, melodies and instrumentation of her Tamil heritage. Tabla rhythms sit beneath low-slung basslines. Tamil melodies drift through warped synths and warm, analogue grooves. Her voice moves between the intimate and the ecstatic. She first emerged with 2021's damnshestamil, a mixtape that introduced the world to a singular new voice through tracks including ‘Good Love
    2. 0’ and ‘Chicken Lemon Rice’. Its arrival brought a BBC Sound Poll nomination, a show-stealing appearance on Later… with Jools Holland and a feature on Jungle's Loving In Stereo, placing Ragu in a musical conversation that stretched well beyond the confines of R&B. Her 2023 debut album SANTHOSAM, Tamil for happiness, opened that world further. Made alongside her brother and producer Japhna Gold, the record slips between earthy soul, disco, hip-hop, pop and Tamil instrumentation, with songs that can feel simultaneously ancient and futuristic. There is a warmth to the record, but also a sense of movement, as if its rhythms are carrying something forward. That instinct has continued to pull Ragu towards the edges of the dancefloor. In 2024, she joined forces with Ahadadream and Skrillex for ‘TAKA’, bringing South Asian rhythmic traditions into the language of contemporary club music. The track became one of the year's most sought-after IDs, finding its way through DJ sets and dancefloors before its official release. She has also collaborated with Jungle and appeared on the soundtrack to Kalki 2898 AD. Ragu first appeared on Australian stages as part of Astral People's Spice Trail at Vivid LIVE in

Party Dozen - 21 Bum Salute Album Tour

    Fri, Nov 13, 2026
No-good Sydney noise merchants Party Dozen (Jonathan Boulet and Kirsty Tickle) are celebrating the release of their new album 21 Bum Salute with a handful of Australian shows. Since 2024's Crime In Australia, the duo have honed their craft touring the US and Europe with Amyl & The Sniffers and locally with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, as well as playing a career-highpoint slot at Meredith. Featuring singles "Mad Rooter", "Special Unit" and new one "Euro Stomper", 21 Bum Salute was written, recorded, performed, mixed and mastered by the group themselves and sees Party Dozen continue their exploration and evolution of psych-tinged noise, burst of doom and no-wave dancefloor. “ On this album we’ve got it down to the absolute best part of the idea for you ,” says Tickle. “ We’ve trimmed the fat .” Party Dozen have gained a reputation as one of Australia's most explosive live acts since forming in 2017 and have shared stages with the likes of Spiritualized, Tropical Fuck Storm and Viagra Boys. A lot more accessible than it looks in writing, a Party Dozen show is hectic, heavy and very loud. And very, very fun. " The music creates an atmosphere best described as The Apocalypse as directed by David Lynch " - Sydney Morning Herald Get a digital download of 21 Bum Salute for only $2, get used to the songs before the show, and buy a vinyl copy once you're there! Standing up for joy and pain and all the messy, confusing, beautiful details that make life worth living. Her new album Triumph & Sadness contains her most profound work yet - a powerful and unique record that has earned her a place in the global landscape of contemporary soul music with a signing to UK tastemaker label Mr Bongo. The album, inspired by a classic sweet soul sound and rooted in the contemporary moment, is released via the collaboration of Mr Bongo and Naarm / Melbourne's artist-led College of Knowledge Records imprint. Venna

    Venna

    Fri, Nov 20, 2026
There are artists who arrive already formed, and others who seem to unfold in public, still becoming. Venna feels closer to the latter. This November, Venna brings that world to Melbourne. A Grammy Award-winning South London saxophonist, producer, and composer, Venna has built a language that doesn’t sit neatly inside genre. It drifts between UK rap, drill, hip-hop, jazz and something more open-ended. Less a fusion than a flow state, resisting definition because it was never designed to be contained. He began playing piano at six and took up the alto saxophone at twelve, early enough for music to feel instinctive rather than learned. Since then, Venna’s saxophone and musical sensibility have moved through a widening circle of contemporary artists. His horn work is most clearly heard on Burna Boy’s Alarm Clock from the Grammy Award-winning Twice As Tall, while his broader creative presence has shaped projects alongside Wizkid, Knucks and longtime collaborator Yussef Dayes. Whether audible or unseen, Venna’s contribution often lives in the atmosphere of the record, shaping tone and feeling without asking to be foregrounded. Now, with his debut album MALIK, that presence turns inward. The album moves like a conversation with that identity. Featuring Jorja Smith, Leon Thomas, Smino, MIKE, Cari, and Venna himself, MALIK dissolves the edges between player, producer, composer and voice. Built with collaborators including Rocco Palladino, Elijah Fox, AoD, J Warner, Marco Bernardis and Yussef Dayes, it holds a collective memory inside it. Jazz is present, but it is not the boundary. Neither is R&B, soul, bossa nova or rap. Instead, MALIK feels like something being passed through Venna rather than built by him alone. He describes himself as a vessel of music, a stream of consciousness moving through him while he creates, a life force present in the room. He speaks to a belief that something larger is at work when he makes music, allowing him to stay open to whatever emerges and to express himself without limitation. There is a rarity in artists who work this way. A sense that what you are hearing is not constructed, but received. In that space, Venna’s music becomes less about performance and more about presence. We acknowledge that this event will be held on Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging. TICKETING INFO Set times are subject to change. When ticket sales have closed on the day of the show they may still be available at the door.
